Ho-Ho-Ho Christmas Decoration
Homemade Wooden Christmas Crafts
Homemade wooden Christmas crafts, like the HO-HO-HO Christmas Decoration, are fun and easy to make. The materials are free if you use old fence boards, like many other wooden craft projects on mycarpentry.com.

I cut the letters of the "tabletop" version of the Ho-Ho-Ho Christmas Decoration (above) from 4-inch wide fence boards painted red/white. I attached the letters horizontally together using 1" decorative hinges. The widths of 4" fence boards vary slightly - but as a general rule, you can use the dimensions shown in the diagram below.
You can cut the heights of the letters using a miter or circular saw. A jigsaw is best for cutting the letter shapes. Cutting the letter "H" is obvious enough, but cutting the inside of the letter 'O' for instance, you must first drill a hole in the middle of the letter that is large enough for the jigsaw blade to fit in.
You can also paint the letters red/green. You can string the letters together vertically and hang them on a wall or from a ceiling or tree. I used a wire threaded through 1/8" holes drilled 1/2" from opposing corners.
